Hello-My name is Michelle Wilson and I am a retired teacher with an Art and History background. I have combined that with my love for antiques.

I buy items at auctions, Estate Sales and flea markets, take them home, refinish them and repaint them. I do about anything. If it doesn’t move on its own and can be transported... I paint it!!! For that reason I call my products "Recycled Treasures."

I have done tables, chairs, benches, blanket chest, hope chest, sap buckets, saws, plant stands, doll furniture, end tables, sewing boxes, bread boxes, sleds, rocking horses, coal hods, log holders, lamps, clocks, slate and wood welcome signs, washboards and many other item to numerous to remember.

I do custom work as well, many people bring me their own items that they want redone for wedding, anniversary or house warming presents or to pass on to grandchildren. One woman from Craftsbury brought me four maple kitchen chairs that she wanted done as “heritage chairs” for her granddaughter’s wedding. On the backs of each one she wanted a scene from the family “roots” as they were into genealogy. One had the Statue of Liberty in NY harbor as that was the first piece of land her grandparents saw when they came over from Ireland. One was a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge as her grandfather helped build it. One was the “Castle Garden” building which was used for immigrant arrivals before Ellis Island was built and that was where her family landed. The last was the NYC skyline at night because until 20 years ago that is where all of her family, herself included had live and worked.

Another woman brought me her old Lane Hope Chest and wanted me to paint it with scenes typical of Vermont as her daughter was getting married and would be moving to Argentina to live.

Others have wanted me to paint a specific scene on a round saw with their name on it to hang out in front of their house … and so it goes.

I always keep a few items for sale on display at my house where they can be seen by appointment. These change all the time because I sell them very fast. I also have a portfolio available for people to view to place an order.
